About THE FUND

I'm Lottie Bennett.

I'm 26 and I have Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome.

Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome is a rare condition affecting 1 in every 100,000 people. It affects each sufferer differently.

For me, it causes chronic and acute pain, mobility difficulties, internal bleeding, thrombosis and chronic fatigue.

I am on warfarin due to having developed DVTs as a teenager after having a colostomy formed due to persistent internal bleeding from haemangiomas growing in my bowel.

As a child, my condition didn’t affect my mobility, though bleeding was an issue, and I was an active child. Until my mid teens I took part in dancing classes which I loved. As a teen I had to give up dancing as my leg started to cause problems.

As time has gone on, I have been unable to take part in any form of dance. I miss it greatly.

Recently I saw a class for wheelchair dance.

This new hobby is fantastic! It lets me keep fit without too much pain – and I can experience the joy of dance again!

However, the cost of a dance wheelchair, which is made to fit me, is very expensive. It does double up as an everyday chair too. Having tried one, the weight and manoeuverability are out of this world. It would make my life so much easier.

I set up my own business of dog training and pet supplies, to keep me working as it is flexible around my illness – but it cannot fund the cost of a bespoke wheelchair.

With the help of some friends, I decided to fundraise to pay for the chair.

Then came a second blow. My mobility scooter broke – and the part which broke cannot be fixed – so I am also faced with raising funds to buy a much needed new scooter.

If you can help, please do. Here's how:

My friend is offering dog portraits for a set donation.

She has also said that ALL royalties from her books will go to my wheelchair fund, until such time as the dance wheelchair and new scooter are in my possession.

Please look at the tabs above.

A target has been set for £4,000 (as it will be no more than this) for both scooter and chair but will adjust accordingly when we have the quotes in. Click here to see our progress!
